What to Expect

What to Expect

We understand that visiting a church can be intimidating, so we want to give you a heads-up so you know what you’ll experience.

Here is what you can expect when attending one of our Sunday services:

Be Yourself

When you visit Seaview Church you’ll find some people dressed in their “Sunday best,” and others in different degrees of casual clothing, but no particular attire is expected or required, in fact, we invite you to be yourself and make yourself comfortable.  Feel free to come early for a coffee and to meet with friends in the Corner Cafe off our lobby.  You will be greeted as you arrive and can ask for assistance from any of our ushers.  At the Information Centre in the middle of the lobby, you can pick up a bulletin that explains how to get connected, along with other updates from ministries at our church.

Check in The Kids

We place a high priority on children.  Our educational wing is a bright, cheerful, well equipped, safe space, staffed by people who will love you kids and give them exciting experience every Sunday.    You’ll want to check the children into their classes before the service begins—we suggest arriving 5 or more minutes early so you don’t feel rushed.

The Service

During each service, we will sing a few worship songs.  The music you’ll hear is a blend of old hymns, today’s contemporary worship music and everything in between – all delivered in a spirit of joy and excitement about who God is and what He’s done for us. Someone will extend a welcome to all in attendance and share 3-4 important announcements. We’ll take time to pray for the needs of our family and community.  A collection to finance the ministries and activities  of the church will be taken up but if you visiting please don’t feel any obligation to contribute.   A talk that focuses on the Bible and how it applies to your life, followed by a song, typically concludes our services — some people may choose to spend time in prayer at the front of the church or in their seats following the conclusion of the service.  After the service ends, you can hang out and meet some people.

Participate at Your Pace

You can choose to sing, pray, talk at your own pace.  There’s no pressure to participate.  Our greatest desire is that you experience God while here.  If you have questions, feel free to pull aside any of our ushers or ministry staff for assistance.
